1. I'm visiting Nantucket during the summer. What type of clothing should I bring?

    Nantucket can be cool in the evening during the summer. Pack a sweater or light outerwear. An umbrella or water resistant garment can also come in handy. For winter trips prepare for a strong, cold wind.

  2. Do I need a car?

    We recommend you leave your car behind as parking is limited and everything is easily accessible by foot, bike or shuttle buses during the summer.

  3. Do I need to make ferry reservations in advance?

    Reservations are recommended for the high speed catamarans only. If you wish to bring a car, you will need to reserve a space well in advance.

  4. Is there a dress code for the restaurants?

    Dress code is generally casual. One or two of the most formal restaurants require jackets for men at dinner. When making reservations, ask what attire the restaurant expects of its guests.

  5. Where can I play golf when I visit?

    There are two public golf clubs on Nantucket, The Miacomet Golf Club (508) 325-6596 and The Sconset Golf Club (508) 257-6596. Sankaty Head Golf Club (508) 257-6391 is private but welcomes the public from October until June. The Nantucket Golf Club is open only to members and their guests.
